Formerly General Manager of Ninjaneering, an Austin-based massively multiplayer online game development company, Spencer founded the acclaimed ‘GameCamp!’ summer academic and career preparatory program.

Based on the success of GameCamp! and working with over 1,000 middle and high school students and their parents, over the past five years, led Spencer to found 3D Squared, Inc., a 501(c)3 workforce development organization that uses advanced virtual world and digital media technologies and processes to teach students about 21st century digital skills and careers.
Spencer was an original advisory board member and coordinator of the award-winning industry certificate program in video game development at Austin Community College. Spencer helped create, and was hired as Director of ACC’s Game Development Institute and Degree Program. ACC is the leading workforce training entity for Central Texas’ high technology corridor.
Industry Working Group
3D Squared has a national working group of experts in workforce development, education and video games and digital media development. These industry professionals engage in our program as mentors for secondary and post-secondary students and faculty, as well as designing and implementing the use of digital technologies and creative processes to transform education and workforce training. Additionally, the working group assists in conducting stakeholder education for the purpose of aligning educational and public policy to conform with international standards for 21st century technology and workforce education.

Students work with software professionals
Our goal is to give students real-world experience in developing software, art, technologies and companies that will be the economic wave of the future. Through the use of industry standard tools and expertise, students are give the opportunity to explore and master the skills necessary to create the infrastructure that attracts the investment needed to develop a successful game industry.
3D Squared believes that Louisiana has the necessary attributes, resources and potential workforce to become a center for applying video game technologies and processes to addressing core social and economic problems. We are confident that by creating a qualified digital workforce, Louisiana will be able to create new businesses and compete in the new global digital economy.
